The Cumberland County Library System administrative headquarters office has relocated from Carlisle to Mechanicsburg
Mechanicsburg, Pa. – Cumberland County’s Library System headquarters recently relocated from 1601 Ritner Highway, Suite 100, Carlisle, to 400 Bent Creek Boulevard, Suite 150, Mechanicsburg. As part of office space reallocations to make room for the addition of the 7th county judge, who will be elected in November 2019, several County departments and agencies are being relocated.
Carolyn Blatchley, executive director for the library system, comments, “A different location brings new opportunities for us. It required us to examine old practices and change workflows to ensure strong support to our member libraries.”
The Cumberland County Library System provides technical, collection development, and administrative support for the county’s eight public libraries: Amelia S. Givin Free Library, Mt. Holly Springs; Bosler Memorial Library, Carlisle; Cleve J. Fredricksen Library, Camp Hill; East Pennsboro Branch Library, Enola; John Graham Library, Newville; Joseph T. Simpson Public Library, Mechanicsburg; New Cumberland Public Library; and Shippensburg Public Library.
The Cumberland County Library System Foundation, FEIN 20-8077580, is an approved EITC (Educational Improvement Tax Credit) organization, eligible to receive contributions from approved corporations in support of Summer Learning Programs throughout the County. In 2018, Cumberland County’s eight library locations served 107,753 active library cardholders, who visited their library 1,171,374 times and borrowed 2,273,924 items.
