The Free Library of Philadelphia is offering Skills for Community-Centered Libraries training, designed to enhance staff members’ abilities to support positive changes in the neighborhoods.  The Programming Librarian blog states that researchers determined that 21.5 percent of surveyed residents have experienced four or more Trauma-Informed Events. Since trauma can affect a person’s ability to communicate, staff is being trained to be aware of how it may affect interaction between staff and the public.  Read more.
