Power Library logo 3New online resources will be available soon to all Pennsylvanians who have a public library card.  In January, 2016, Academic Main Search and Science Reference Center will be added to the numerous e-resources currently offered through POWER Library in response to students’ need for science, technology, engineering and math resources (STEM).

Academic Main Search has more than 1900 full text journals, 1300 peer-reviewed, indexed and abstracted journals and nearly 1300 full-text peer-reviewed journals.   Subjects include biology, chemistry, engineering, physics, psychology, religion and theology and others.

The Science Reference Center research database provides access to full-text, science-oriented content. It contains full text for hundreds of science encyclopedias, reference books, periodicals, and other reliable sources. In addition, the database includes more than 280,000 high-quality science images from sources such as UPI, Getty, NASA, National Geographic and the Nature Picture Library.

One current title will be discontinued.  Access to Auto Repair through POWER Library will end as of December 31, 2015.  Libraries may pick it up as a co-op purchase through the non-profit agency, HSLC.  For more information on this library co-op purchase opportunity, please go to http://www.hslc.org/?page_id=2410.
