Grants Listed in Center for Rural PA Newsletter | STAGING Compendium

Are you receiving the Center for Rural Pennsylvania newsletter?

The Center promotes Pennsylvania’s rural and small communities.  It collects data on trends and publishes information and research to educate audiences about the diverse people and communities of rural Pennsylvania.  Make sure your reference staff knows about this resource!  Also ….

Check out the Resource tab on their site!  It lists grants of interest to those in rural areas, such as the Preferred Communities Programs Grant (deadline Aug. 1) for nonprofit and public agencies that want to help refugees resettle in the U.S., acclimate to American culture, and find meaningful work.

Funds are also available for job training and education. The US Department of Labor Employment and Training has a new grant program available through the America’s Promise Job Driven Grant Program (deadline August 25). It offers funds for job training and education that leads to in-demand and industry-recognized credentials and degrees facilitating “regional workforce partnerships”.

Check out other grants in the Resource section of the newsletter.  Many of those listed in the current newsletter have deadlines in August.
