Access PA/POWER Library Fall 2016 Live Training – Registration Continues | STAGING Compendium

Registration for the live 2016 Fall training sessions for the Access PA Catalog and the POWER Library e-resources continues! There are 11 sessions scheduled across the state. A complete list of the training locations is available on the POWER Library Portal.

To register, select the location name of the session you want to attend, which will take you to the Register for this session link.  Keep in mind that while the deadline for registering is one week before the scheduled session, space is limited and seats will be filled on a first come basis. Directions will be emailed to you one week before the scheduled session.

Agenda
Registration and a continental breakfast will begin at 8:15am. Each session will begin promptly at 9:00am and end no later than 3:00pm with a one-hour break for lunch on your own.

9:00am – 11:30am:
Session A – Access PA Catalog and ILL system: Covers training requirements of SHAREit including: Searching; Placing and Fulfilling ILL Requests; the Participant Record; Public Interface
or
Session B – POWER Library e-resources: eBooks on EBSCOHost; SIRS Discoverer; Science Reference Center; AP Images

11:30am – 12:30pm: Lunch on your own

12:30pm – 3:00pm:
Session B – Repeat: POWER Library e-resources: eBooks on EBSCOHost; SIRS Discoverer; Science Reference Center; AP Images

Session C – POWER Library e-resources: eBooks on EBSCOHost; Pennsylvania Job Resources; Consumer Health Complete; Newspaper Source Plus

Act 48 and Continuing Education Information
Certified school librarians are eligible to receive Act 48 credit hours for attending a session. Act 48 credit forms will be provided at each session. Librarians from public, academic or special collections libraries are eligible for CE credits.  Certificates will be handed out to all attendees upon completion of each training session.
