Programming Opportunity for Libraries with SciStarter and Verizon
SciStarter has expanded its partnership with Verizon to bring more virtual citizen science programming to your library! Exploring citizen science is a great way to reach library patrons virtually. Limited opportunities connecting to this fall programming are available; filling out the sign-up form below also signals your willingness for future engagement.
A program could be hosted on SciStarter’s Zoom account or on the library’s Zoom account. For the majority of programs, SciStarter Program Manager, Caroline Nickerson, will give a brief introduction to citizen science and a featured project, such as one listed at https://SciStarter.org/nlm, and then attendees (these could be library patrons, teen volunteers, or whomever the library audience is) will be put in breakout rooms for trained Verizon employee facilitators to lead them through the project and contribute to citizen science, live, in the virtual event. Programs could be anytime that works for both SciStarter and the host library from August – December.  Sign-up.
