Did you know that the State Library has thousands of maps in its collections?  Among the most famous are an edition of the first printed atlas and the very first map of Harrisburg!  Rare Books Librarian Dr. Iren Snavely has selected a number of old, rare, and interesting maps from the Rare Collections vault of the State Library for your viewing pleasure.  Please join us for an open house in the Rare Collections Reading Room, on the ground floor of the State Library, Forum Building on Wednesday April 20th from 11:30 -1:00, or 3:30 – 5:00pm.  See old, beautiful maps and hear the fascinating stories of these amazing treasures of cartography.
