New GAC Guidelines on Service Area Approved | STAGING Compendium

Greetings library colleagues,

I’m pleased to report that the Governor’s Advisory Council on Library Development (GAC) Guidelines for Libraries Seeking to Expand or Reduce Service Areas were approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE). These guidelines and all GAC guidelines can be found on our website here:  Approved Guidelines.

The GAC advises and makes recommendations to the Governor, the Secretary of Education, and the Deputy Secretary for Libraries regarding the general policies and operations of the State library and the State Aid program for libraries (24 PA.C.S. Education § 9312).

Thanks to the GAC Guidelines Committee and the OCL team for their dedication to this task as well as everyone who participated in the focus group and community discussion.

Please send questions regarding these guidelines to ra-stateaid@pa.gov.

Regards,
Heather
