Michael Balkenhol is the new National Network Libraries of Medicine, Middle Atlantic Regions’s new Health Programming Coordinator. Michael has primary responsibility for creating and sharing health information “programs in a box” for K-12, public library and community based organizations.
Michael is also the Project Lead for the National Initiative with the Collaborative Summer Library Program. He is MAR’s liaison to K-12 audiences and works with Veronica Milliner on outreach to public libraries. Previously, Michael was at the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh, where he was a children’s and teen librarian. He is an expert at creating inclusive, quality programs in libraries, schools and community-settings. Michael may be contacted at MAB602@pitt.edu.
