Sewickley Public Library Posts Video for Allegheny County Love Your Library Campaign | STAGING Compendium

Libraries in Allegheny County are in the midst of their Love Your Library campaign this month. Donations made to any library in Allegheny County throughout the month of September are generously matched by the Jack Buncher Foundation! The donation drive by all libraries in the county is quite impressive – bringing out some very creative ideas!

At the Sewickley Public Library, the Love Your Library campaign goal is to remind patrons about the importance of the library as an institution; a community space that offers so much more than books.  To meet that goal, staff members created a video to highlight the reasons to support the Sewickley Public Library and the vast services that the library offers.

Utilizing ideas from the ALA’s Libraries Transform initiative, the Sewickley Public Library created a Top 10 Reasons to Support the Sewickley Public Library video [1:56], which describes library services and how they meet the ever-changing needs of the local community.  The video features library staff members who were eager to take part in the endeavor! It was posted on the Library’s YouTube channel, Facebook, on their website and sent out via the Library’s weekly email blast. Reception to the video has been very positive and the Library hopes to continue to produce more.  Watch the video!
