Upcycling Book Exhibition at Penn College | STAGING Compendium

Thomas Proske created this work entitled Legion

The Madigan Library at Penn College is holding an upcycling book exhibition  from January 11 through February 28 in collaboration with The Gallery at Penn College.

One of the programs was Old Books/New Lives: The Art of Upcycling.  Rather than disposing of books that have outlived their usefulness, the Madigan Library and The Gallery at Penn College invited the students, faculty, and staff of Pennsylvania College of Technology to upcycle a selection of old books into creative objects or unique works of art.  An exhibition of these works will be held on the main floor of  the Madigan Library in conjunction with a national, juried exhibition of altered books, Books Undone: the art of altered books, which will be on display in The Gallery at Penn College.
