Greetings library colleagues,
Mike Reilly of the Bureau of Library Development’s (BLD) State Aid team has been working with the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) Bureau of School Leadership and Teacher Quality (BSLTQ) to better understand PDE’s certification process for public librarians. As a result, a webpage has been added to the Teacher Information Management System (TIMS) website that includes an FAQ for public librarian certification, certification tables, and associated links that will be useful for the certification process. Additionally, BLD’s certification extension form has been revised to reflect updated information provided by BSLTQ and is available on our website and LibPAS. Please only use the updated form for future extension requests and discard all older versions. The State Aid team also created a Librarian Certification page on the State Aid Resources LibGuide that includes the link to the TIMS site as well as other general information about certification.
Regards,
Heather
